I dislike splits that are disparate mishmashes of thematically and structurally distinct works, but very much appreciate when bands actually work together on their respective parts of the album, the latter being the case on this excellent split. Both bands bring their technical and dissonant death/black metal A-game, with Tchornobog producing the more unsettling track and Abyssal the more pummelling one (and probably their best work since Veil of Transcendence). Best split of 2022? Yes.
